The three-hour sandboarding trip gives you extra time on the Alexandria Dune Field to find your groove. You’ll leave our dock at Colchester, Addo, on a short boat trip along the Sundays River, past birdlife and the coastal edge of Addo Elephant National Park, to the dunes. With the longer session, there’s time to learn the basics, build confidence on steeper runs, try sandsledding and cool off in the river before heading back.
Duration: 3 hours, including the boat trip.

Who it suits: keen boarders, active families, school groups and friends who want to make a proper session of it.
What to bring: sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, plenty of water, a towel and clothes that can get sandy and wet. Friends who’d rather watch can book a spectator place.

I already reviewed this nice experience. I was there as a spectator. It was my sister and nephew from Poland (well versed in snowboarding) who decided to see the difference in sand boarding. The cruise, with marvelous views of the dunes and birds, was truly breezy particularly after a scorching heat earlier on. Thank you for shifting the time of this event for later in the afternoon when the temperature was more acceptable. The sandboarding was fun. Adam, the guide, was very pleasant, patient and accommodating. Sandboarding was easy for my sister and nephew but sliding straight into the water is not something that you practice while on snow. The water in the river was clean and warm. i must say the slide directly into the river was not faint-hearted. It looked much more dangerous than it actually was. So, in a nutshell, this sand boarding was a good comparison experience. I can not say whether sand or snow-boarding is a winner. Enjoy being suspended 30m above the forest floor on the Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour, cable sliding from nine platforms, tree to tree while discovering the spectacular and unique wilderness of the Tsitsikamma Indigenous forest. Surrounded by birdlife and giant trees like the Outeniqua Yellowwood, known to us as Uncle Sam who is over 600 years old! One can easily feel like a dwarf standing against it. The tour begins with a detailed safety briefing followed by a ‘kitting up’ session where a full-body harness, pulleys, and climbing equipment is issued and checked. A short drive into the Tsitsikamma forest and it is time to monkey around!From the start on the launch platform, a new world unfolds as one gently glides on a steel cable to the first tree platform. All groups are escorted through the forest canopy by a lead guide and a follow guide to ensure your safety as you slide from tree to tree. The platforms built high up in the giant Outeniqua Yellowwoods, provide an unbelievable view of this enchanting new world – any fear of heights is soon lost as you gather in your new surroundings.

Even in the rain – just bring something warm to wear and come and enjoy a rainforest experience with us. It is in the Tsitsikamma Indigenous forest and is always a magical experience. A rain jacket will be supplied. ●Comfortable clothes should be worn and any footwear that is secure on your feet and that will not fall if you are suspended in mid-air.
